New Moorers |
Dogs |
Some of our moorers have either sold
their boats or moved on to pastures new, to those who have gone,
we wish them every happiness for the future. Vacancies never last
long here and we have quite a few new boats and faces on the marina.
We extend to them all a very warm welcome and I am sure that they
have already experienced the friendliness of our existing long term
moorers. |
Dogs have always been accepted on the marina on the understanding
that owners will not allow their pets to run freely and that
any fouling is cleaned up. From time to time we receive complaints
about dog fouling that hasn't been cleared up and we usually
have a word with pet owners informally. Unfortunately this year
we've had an increase of complaints and we had to write to all
those who bring their dogs onto the marina. We specifically requested
that dogs should be kept on a lead in the grounds and reminded
owners about their responsibilities. That worked for a while
but yet again we are receiving complaints. Please don't let your
dog(s) run loose and do clean up any mess. It is only fair to
other moorers (including us!) who occasionally walk dog mess
into our boats or find our hands and clothes soiled. Nuff said. |
Gate Security |
|
It's worth mentioning, for the benefit of our new moorers,
that the main gates are locked each evening. Times vary with
the seasons of course but as a rule of thumb, if the gates have
been locked then please leave them locked after use. We often
find that the gates have been locked at say 7pm and that they
are later left wide open. Occasionally someone will nip out and
leave the gates open, others come along and assume that they
should be left as they find them. It is in everyone's interest
to ensure that the marina is secure at night time. Extra gate
keys can be purchased at the office. |
